In the architectural community, it’s critical to stay abreast of current trends and ideas, and for that reason events like ArchitectureBoston Expo are so valued. It’s also equally important to unwind with and get to know fellow professionals in the field, which is why 7 Tide threw a second annual ABX After Party last week.
On Wednesday, November 28, 2018, over 150 industry professionals arrived to 7 Tide by shuttle from the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, where ABX took place over two days. At the after party, hors d’oeuvres were passed as industry professionals gathered to catch up, discuss the day’s design highlights, and browse the inspiration center’s new arrivals. “ABX has been going on for a long time and so there are a number of architects, designers, and builders coming to the Seaport from all over New England to attend. Many of them are our clients, so we decided to host a party and create a space for people to get together and network,” says Debra Burke, business development representative for Clarke.
The Dear Abbeys, a Boston University a cappella group, performed throughout 7 Tide and broke into a series of songs capturing the attention of the crowded space. The theme of the event reflected the approaching holidays, and of course, it didn’t take long for the photo booth, stocked with funny props, to be up and running. “Clients told me if there’s an after party we are going to attend it’s going to be the one at 7 Tide,” says Burke. “We always have fun, but we also have this great space for people to gather.”
With the season of giving upon us, each brand at 7 Tide—Clarke Sub-Zero and Wolf, Marvin Windows and Doors, Kohler Signature Store by Supply New England, and Reflex Lighting—put together custom gift baskets. Four lucky winners went home with one of the following: a Halo Home Smart Home Bluetooth Starter pack supplied by Reflex; gift cards and paraphernalia to cover an evening at TD Garden from Marvin; a Simplice semi-pro kitchen faucet from Kohler; and a Wolf Gourmet Blender and Holiday Beverage Tray from Clarke. “The raffle was a great addition to the evening, everyone left smiling, and it was just a fabulous event,” says Burke.
